Chief Executive

William Thornton

Will has a background and degree in product design and manufacturing processes. Prior to joining the company, he worked in the private defence sector supporting government programmes. Joining in 2010 he has led the Sales and Technical divisions before leading the company as Managing Director in 2018, then CEO from 2020.


Non-Executive Chairman

Michael Bailey, FCA

As Chairman, Michael has been advising the company since its inception in 2008, becoming Chairman in 2019 after guiding the group through a successful transition to becoming an employee-owned company, following which he also become a director of the group’s trustee. Prior to Bladeroom’s inception he was involved in the original incorporation of ModuleCo and its de-grouping from a former parent. As Chairman he works closely with William Thornton, CEO, and other senior management team colleagues.


Chief Operating Officer

Sam Hanks

Sam has over a decade of experience overseeing the manufacture and delivery of our mission critical infrastructure. Since becoming Operations Director in 2014, and more recently as Chief Operating Officer, he has held ultimate responsibility for the on time and safe delivery of every project that the Group has delivered.



Head of legal affairs

Michael Joy

Michael was appointed to his role as Head of Legal Affairs in January 2012.  He oversees diverse legal aspects of the business including management of intellectual property, negotiation of contracts, and developing corporate relationships.  He works closely alongside Will Thornton and Andy Godden to help develop and execute both short and long-term strategic initiatives.


Group financE Director

Rob Scott

Rob transitioned to Finance Director in February 2022 after initially joining the company as the Assistant Finance Director in December 2020. As Finance Director, Rob has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the finance department and works closely with Andy Godden, CFO, on strategic financial matters.



Design Director

Aaron FavilL

Aaron was appointed to the role of Design Director in August 2021 having previously served as the Group’s Design & Development Manager as an Associate Director for 10 years. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design and compliance, through the RIBA stages from Strategic Definition to Manufacturing and Construction.


Technical Projects Director

Adrian Edge

Adrian Edge is our Technical Projects Director, responsible for product development, commissioning and live operations, ensuring operational excellence. Working closely with the BladeRoom technical team, all technical aspects of BladeRoom deployment from design through to ongoing product support and maintenance are covered. Adrian has been with the company since completing a university industrial placement between 1994 and 1995.
